Early this morning, we visited the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center for a crucial biopsy appointment. Dr. Deepa Magge performed the biopsy.
The purpose of this procedure was to gather tissue samples for a detailed pathology report. This report will be combined with the recent findings from Ali’s colonoscopy and esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) to give us a comprehensive view of her condition.
During the biopsy, Dr. Magge also confirmed that the cancer is originating from Ali’s stomach and has spread significantly through her gastrointestinal tract, identifying it as stage 4 stomach cancer. Hearing this news was incredibly difficult for us and marked one of the hardest days we’ve faced as a family.
We are now waiting for the pathology report to provide deeper insights into Ali’s condition, which will help us plan the most effective steps for her treatment. Despite the challenges, we’re staying strong and focused on supporting Ali with all our love and strength.
