Avalynn gets Stridor (June 21, 2024)

This week has been challenging for our family. Our little Avalynn has been unwell, and her condition worsened today, prompting me to reach out to her pediatrician. She’s been struggling with a barky cough and fever. We managed to get an appointment with Dr. Aimee Priolo Perri at 9:40 AM.

Initially, we thought it might be croup, but Dr. Perri diagnosed her with stridor. Avalynn was given dexamethasone to help with her breathing, and we were told it should improve within two to three days.

Whenever the kids get sick, it brings new challenges, especially with Ali’s immune system being so compromised due to her cancer and chemotherapy treatments. We have to be extremely careful to prevent any infections from reaching her. It’s a constant balancing act, but we’re doing everything we can to keep everyone safe and healthy.
