Just wanted to give you all a quick update on what’s been going on with Ali.
This morning, Ali had another abdominal paracentesis procedure at 8:00 AM. The good news is that they only had to remove 2 liters of fluid this time, which is another 0.5 liters down from her last procedure on July 31st. It might seem strange to call it “good news” when there’s still fluid being drained, but every little bit of progress is a win in our book.
Tomorrow afternoon, we’ll be heading back to the hospital to get Ali’s bloodwork checked again. If everything looks good and they give us the green light, it’s going to be a marathon of a day, starting at 1:00 PM and likely stretching into a late night. We’re looking at about 7 hours in the hospital for two of the chemo medications with an iron infusion, followed by another 46 hours with a take-home chemo pack... same routine as her third round of chemo on August 2nd, so we know the drill.
Thankfully, we’ve got some amazing people in our corner, with our neighbors graciously picking Liam up from school and Ali’s parents taking care of Avalynn.
